The Chase star Anne Hegerty reveals SURPRISE Harry Potter link to The Governess!
Anne still keeps in contact with her pals from I'm A Celebrity...
The Chase star Anne Hegerty, aka The Governess, says she modelled her alter ego on a character from Harry Potter!
The 60-year-old star, who was a massive fan favourite on the last series of I’m A Celebrity, says she based The Governess on evil Professor Umbridge from the Harry Potter stories.
Dolores Umbridge, played by Imelda Staunton in the hit films, was an enemy of Harry’s. However, Anne reveals that, according to some, The Governess ended up more like fearsome but loveable Professor McGonagall.
The Chase star, talking to TV Times, revealed: “I modelled her on Professor Umbridge from Harry Potter, but people say I’m more Professor McGonagall, who’s more likeable.
“I didn’t set out to be liked – everyone’s supposed to be terrified of me. I’m surprised by the amount of viewers who want the Chaser to win!
“I love getting into character. I put on the suit, the belt, the shoes, the lipstick, and in the mirror ‘that look’ appears.”

Anne, whose quiz show Britain's Brightest Family returns next week to ITV, also looked back on her time in the jungle. She revealed that everyone tried to help her enjoy the experience.
“I bonded most with Nick, John Barrowman, Rita Simons and Fleur East but I adore them all.
“Everyone tried to help when I felt vulnerable and was so very kind.
“We’ve got a WhatsApp group and will stay in touch – Fleur wants to come quizzing with me.
“Harry [Redknapp] is a lovely bloke and a worthy winner. He looked baffled most of the time but mucked in, changed the dunny and was just an everyman.”
Meanwhile, Anne has a busy year ahead as she films more episodes of The Chase in both the UK and Australia.
The Chase continues on ITV.
