The X Factor 2009 - Live Shows Week 2
The eleven remaining acts in The X Factor 2009 take on songs by legendary divas
It's week two of The X Factor live shows, and this week the theme was divas.....
First to perform was Lucie Jones, who sang the Whitney Houston hit How Will I Know
It was a change of pace for the Welsh lass who has previously sung ballads
Olly Murs was a hit with the judges with his rendition of Tina Turner's Fool In Love
And there was some more Whitney Houston for Miss Frank - the ballad All The Man That I Need
Each of the girls had a solo spot - but the performance divided the judges
Rachel Adedeji was next and brought things more up to date with Beyonce's If I Was A Boy
There was even more Whitney for Joe McElderry - he sang Where Do Broken Hearts Go
Danyl Johnson also opted for Whitney - although he performed one of her newer, lesser known songs, I Didn't Know My Own Strength
Lloyd was next, singing the Leona Lewis hit Bleeding Love
Then twins John and Edward gave a 'memorable' performance of Britney Spears' Oops I Did It Again
The performance featured a dialogue which took place offstage behind the judges
So....how do you follow that? With Rikki Loney, singing Aretha Franklin's Respect
The Scots lad was joined on stage by some very glamorous dancers
The penultimate performer was Jamie Archer, singing the Christina Aguilera song Hurt
And last but not least was Stacey Solomon singing Etta James' At Last - a song she had never even heard before the show!
Cheryl Cole was behind the judges desk and in front of it - performing her new single Fight For This Love
The results show also featured a performance from Whitney Houston of her new song Million Dollar Bill
Stacey Solomon appeared quite pleased to have made it through to next week's show!
For some though the pressure was too much
Rachel was in the bottom two again - and sang U2's With Or Without You in a bid to stay in the competition
Rikki Loney, in the bottom two for the first time, sang Westlife's Flying Without Wings
However this week it was Rikki's turn to leave, as the judges saved Rachel for the second week running
Cheryl said she could not believe he was going while other acts - such as John and Edward - were still in the competition. Two down, 10 to go....
