The X Factor: Overload Generation are eliminated
The dream is over for Overload Generation, who were voted off The X Factor this Sunday night.
In a nerve-wrecking double elimination, both Overload Generation and sister act, Blonde Electra were given their marching orders. But the boyband still had a chance to stay in the competition, when they were pitted in a sing-off against other low scorer, Stephanie Nala who had also failed to impress on Saturday night.
However, despite giving it their all, and even bouncing back into the competition earlier in the series as a Wild Card, Overload Generation weren't a hit with the judges, especially Simon Cowell. And with viewer votes against them too, it was game over. Louis Walsh was emotional at losing one of his acts, but seemed to hint he might still work with the boys. Watch this space!
Still in the competition, and getting ready for next weekend's 80s themed edition are: Fleur East, Ben Haenow, Lauren Platt, Paul Akister, Lola Saunders, Only The Young, Jack Walton, Chloe Jasmine, Jay James, Stereo Kicks, Andrea Faustini, Stevi Ritchie and Jake Quickenden.

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!"
