Tom Hardy's dog steals spotlight at Legend screening
Tom Hardy found himself upstaged by his dog Woody at a London screening of his new film, Legend.
The 37-year-old actor, who portrays gangster twins Ronnie and Reggie Kray in the crime biopic, was discussing his role in the movie when his canine companion interrupted him and stood in front of the stage.

Standing alongside director Brian Helgeland at the Vue West End cinema, Tom explained: “In all honesty for me this is the hardest thing that I’ve tried to do in my career, trying to pull off a couple of characters in the same film. It was an experiment and a huge risk for Brian.”
Woody then ambled onto the centre of the stage and started to roll around on the floor, in front of the actor as he continued speaking.

Despite the distraction, Tom – who has spoken about his love for dogs – managed to tell fans about the risk involved with making the film.
“This was a very special piece for me and for everyone involved and we had a very short amount of time to do it,” he continued.

“We had 10 weeks to put it up and we didn’t have the facilities to create a CGI world. Everything is as is. We didn’t know what we were f***ing doing – well I didn’t – and I tried to pretend I did.”

Tom finished by saying: “I hope you enjoy it because a lot of love and passion went into it, and it’s something that we’re really proud about and care for. I have a lovely viewing experience and I’ll leave you with Woody.”
Legend, which also stars Emily Browning, Christopher Eccleston and David Thewlis, opens in UK cinemas on September 9.
