Jane McDonald & Friends, 9.00pm, C5
She’s only just finished Cruising, yet here’s trouper Jane back with her own take on the variety show – songs, hoofing, guests, and lots of showbiz razzmattaz. Following a special at Christmas, this five-show series begins with guests Alexander O’Neal and Shane Filan, while Jane brushes up on her funk-disco moves for an Earth, Wind & Fire medley. Gardeners’ World, 8.30pm, BBC2 (ex Wales)
Like the first cuckoo of the year, or a fox hanging out of your bins, the sight of Monty Don on the box is a sure sign that spring is here. And, as you’d expect after the winter lay-off, Monty is inspecting his Longmeadow garden for signs of damage. After that, he’s on a mission to reduce his use of plastic this year, while Adam Frost sets out to show that even the tiniest back garden can become a design triumph. Rating: ****
Winter Paralympics, from, 10.55am, C4
It’s been an exciting and enjoyable Winter Olympics so far, with Team GB having acquitted themselves well at Pyeongchang. But now the focus switches to the Paralympians, and after winning the first ever golds on snow in Sochi four years ago, ParalympicsGB will be hoping to top that. So sit back and enjoy the razzle-dazzle of the opening ceremony this morning before the team gets chasing its target of seven medals (at least) from 12.30am. Paralympians to look out for next week include Kelly Gallagher in the Super-G (Sunday), world champion skier Millie Knight (Saturday), the snowboarders (Monday) and the wheelchair curlers, four of whom won medals at Sochi (Saturday).
