Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, 7.00pm, ITV
Our favourite Geordie duo, Ant and Dec, are back with more fun, games and hidden-camera antics as Saturday Night Takeaway returns. In the first show of the series, The Voice UK’s newest coach, Olly Murs, takes the mic as Guest Announcer and Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden falls victim of the first “Undercover” of the series, as the boys wreak havoc during a shopping segment on QVC. Scarlett Moffatt is back to fill the "Best Seats in the House" and Kylie Minogue will be performing her new single, as well as stepping back in time to sing some of her biggest hits in the End of the Show Show. Welcome back, lads, we’ve missed you! Rating: *****
Troy: Fall of a City, 9.10pm, BBC1
If a man steals another’s wife these days, he could get named in a divorce case or even appear on The Jeremy Kyle Show. Back in Ancient Greece he’d cause a major war! Jonas Armstrong’s King Menelaus is raging over young upstart Paris stealing his beloved wife, Helen, and starts massing armies to march on Troy, where Helen is living in sin. He calls upon three fearsome Greek warriors – his brother Agamemnon, Achilles and a very troubled Odysseus – to help him in his quest and, with mystical assistance from the gods, they soon end up on the shores of Troy where the first battle of an epic war begins. Be warned: brutal but spectacular fight scenes await. Rating: *****
Take Me Out Special, 6.00pm, ITV
To mark 10 years of Take Me Out, for the first time ever, host Paddy McGuinness is turning the dating show on its head and saying “Bring on the boys!”, as 30 male contestants from previous series return for another shot at finding The One. (The question is, will any of the boys turn their lights out?). Coming down the “Love Lift” will be celebrity beauties Chloe Sims from The Only Way Is Essex and gold medal-winning gymnast Claudia Fragapane. The special will also feature past success stories, including Beckie and Adam from series eight, who married last year and are expecting their first baby; and Adele and Dave from series two, who are expecting baby number two.
