The Last Post, 9.00pm, BBC1
While permanently tipsy Alison isn’t exactly embracing her pregnancy, plucky Honor is trying to enjoy herself despite missing her home and family. Perhaps she should be keeping more of an eye on her stuffy husband Joe, because even while he’s trying to stop her from hanging out with bad influence Alison, the company he’s keeping is far more worrying. After Major Markham asks him to convince reporter Martha not to publish photos of Dimarco’s death, Joe and Martha clash, but the chemistry between them is hard to ignore. So when Joe heads off to secretly meet her again, instead of keeping an eye on young George Markham, there’s danger in store… Rating: ****
Louis Theroux: Dark States, 9.00pm, BBC2
In the second of his new series focusing on three American cities, Louis is in Houston, Texas. He’s here to find out why the USA’s fourth-largest city is known as a hub for human trafficking, and to meet people caught up in its sex trade. As the film begins, bold, confident prostitute Nikki declares that she’s got ‘the best job in the world’, but it’s not long before Louis sees the sadness and weariness behind the facade. Why does she give all her money to her pimp when he uses violence to keep her in line? Eighteen-year-old sex worker Savannah [pictured with Louis], meanwhile, is trying to quit drugs, but seems to be fighting a losing battle. Affecting and very sad. Rating: ****
