Hold on to your tricorn hats as series four bows out with a tense episode that will change life for Ross and co for ever… After last week’s explosive battle with Monk Adderley in London, Ross returns to Cornwall, desperate to make amends with Demelza – but can they patch things up? Meanwhile, George is being seriously frosty towards Elizabeth after Geoffrey Charles’ comment about Valentine looking like their Uncle Ross. Panicked, Elizabeth obtains a tonic to induce early labour in an attempt to convince George that she habitually gives birth pre-term… Elsewhere, Morwenna seeks out Drake – is a happy ending on the cards? Travels in Trumpland, 9pm, BBC2
The end of 2016 was an odd time – while former Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls was swapping politics for Gangnam Style fame on Strictly, America was voting for the man from The Apprentice to become the leader of the free world. Tonight, Ed is on a mission to work out how Donald Trump won the election and why his supporters are so enthralled by his ideas. Ed’s three-part journey starts in the Deep South at a ‘Rednecks with Paychecks’ festival, where he meets people proudly flying the Confederate flag, plus a hard-working Mexican immigrant who voted for Trump. It’s an enlightening but often alarming and frustrating watch, handled well by a patient Ed. Rating: ****
Unforgotten, 9pm, ITV
As the case of the historic murder of Hayley Reid continues, DCI Cassie and DI Sunny quiz the four friends who were staying at the cottage not far from where Hayley vanished. Homeless artist Chris Lowe tells Cassie they all had a pleasant evening, but she later discovers that he was actually in great turmoil that night. Why is he lying? As always, Cassie’s focus is solely on the case – but is there something at home needing her attention? Rating: ****
