This legal drama following Dublin-based solicitor Tara Rafferty (Irish actress Amy Huberman, Moone Boy) is as much about the main character as the cases she takes on. In this first episode, Tara returns home from her hen night to a shocking discovery, leading her to quit her job at a prestigious law firm and, with the help of friends and colleagues, including mentor Vincent Pike (Neil Morrissey), set up on her own. The series eschews the fast pace and wild plot twists you might expect for a story with enough breathing space to leave us rooting for the troubled but kind-hearted lawyer as she tries to piece her shattered life back together. Rating: ****
Death in Paradise, 9.00pm, BBC1
A man is found dead at his home with a wound to his head and a peanut grasped in his hand. Luckily, officers Dwayne and JP are alerted by a neighbour and get to the crime scene just in time to see the suspect trying to get away. JP recognises the man as an old school adversary, Cordell Thomas. Case closed you may think, especially when Cordell confesses all. But Jack suspects Cordell is not telling the truth and the peanut in the victim’s hand is the clue that will crack the case wide open… Rating: ***
Animals with Cameras, 8.00pm, BBC1
How on Earth do you attach a camera to a slippery devil ray? Just one of the challenges faced by Gordon Buchanan as the series concludes. Enter tow-cam, a lasso device which after eight hours releases the camera up to the surface. Scientists had always thought the rays gathered in huge numbers around the Azores for a feeding frenzy, but the footage reveals an astonishing scene of pregnant females preparing to give birth. In Turkey, cameras on brown bears help a conservation team plan for their future survival, and in France, collar-cams on sheepdogs help farmers protect their flocks. Rating: ****
