Former Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan limped out of Tumble, as the remaining six celebrities get ready to face next week’s final
The TV star, 60, found himself pitted against middleweight boxing champion Carl Froch in the vault-off to stay in the competition.
Three-times Olympic gold gymnast and head judge Nadia Comaneci decided the boxer's more ambitious vault was enough to keep him in the show.
Peter, the oldest contestant on the live BBC show, was in high spirits despite his defeat, saying he was proud to have come so far.
“I just had such a great time. I never thought, at this age, that I would be in this kind of show. It is fantastic. The semi final - it’s good for an old geezer.”
Peter had kicked off the show with a circus-inspired acrobatic routine, but his performance received mixed reviews from the judges.
Judge Louis Smith said: “This is a semi final. The show has given you enough opportunity to show off - for me, I didn’t get that at all.”
But Nadia said: “I really liked your performance and I like the fact that every week you do something different.”
Former Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding had found herself at the bottom of the leader board based on the judge’s scores alone.
But the public voted for the first time in the series and lifted her out of the bottom two.
Wolfblood star Bobby Lockwood topped the score boards with a romantic routine to Let it Go from the film Frozen.
His performance won praise from all of the judges, with Sebastien Stella saying: “That was beautiful work.” While Smith declared: “That was unbelievable.”
The remaining six celebrities - Bobby, Sarah, Carl, former Sugababe Amelle Berrabah, The Only Way Is Essex star Lucy Mecklenburgh and former Steps star Ian ‘H’ Watkins, will compete in the Tumble final on BBC1, Saturday, September 13, 6.00pm.
