TV Times tops picks for tonight

What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight three of the best shows on telly tonight for Sunday 29th October

Blue Planet 2, 8.00pm, BBC1

Sir David Attenborough’s enthusiasm and passion for the natural world remains as infectious as ever as he profiles extraordinary sealife in this sublime sequel to The Blue Planet, airing 16 years after the original. In the opener, an epic sequence of a giant trevally leaping out of the ocean to grab a tern will surely rival last year’s famous Planet Earth II footage of snakes chasing an iguana. Also, look out for a kobudai wrasse which changes sex and a tough walrus mum trying to find a place on the ice. But our highlight is the tusk fish who makes a daily trip to collect clams and carry them to his favourite piece of coral to bash them open! Rating: *****

The Last Post, 9.00pm, BBC1

It’s heart-in-the-mouth stuff this week on The Last Post

It’s heart-in-the-mouth stuff this week, with little George Markham still in the clutches of insurgents and father Harry facing an unbearable choice when they demand that their captured leader be released in exchange for George. Harry is hampered by the strict army rule that they should not negotiate with terrorists. Meanwhile, Joe and Tony are on a dangerous mission. Rating: *****

Ball and Boe: Back Together, 9.00pm, ITV

Ball and Boe

After teaming up to huge success last year, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe are back with another all-singing, all-dancing musical treat. While the boys showcase their second album by singing duets including The Prayer and As If We Never Said Goodbye, the warmth of their firm friendship shines through as they cheekily rib each other! Proving their versatility by daring each other to try out different musical styles from country to rap, Michael tries to convince Alfie to sing a bit of Wham?! Meanwhile, there’s a guest appearance from Imelda May and Jason Manford has a go at singing On the Street Where You Live while Michael and Alfie try to upstage him! Rating: ****

Return tomorrow for more picks of the day.
