Taron Egerton (also in Rocket Man, Saturday, 9.30pm, C4) stars in this compelling miniseries based on a true story. After pleading guilty to a drug-dealing charge, Jimmy Keene is locked up for 10 years. His charm quickly earns him the trust of his fellow inmates, which inspires the FBI to make him an offer: if Jimmy transfers to a maximum-security prison and convinces a suspected serial killer to tell him where the victims’ bodies are, he’ll walk free. At first, Jimmy’s not interested – but when he learns how ill his father (the late Ray Liotta) is, he changes his mind.

She was one of the most famous and photographed women in the world, but this film, first shown last year, presents another side to the iconic star, providing a glimpse of the woman behind the public persona. The first photograph is of a young Elizabeth, before her family moved to California in 1939 and her life as a movie star began. She got her first big break aged 11 and went on to work with some of the great actors of the time, including Richard Burton, whom she married – twice. The film also depicts the struggles she faced with addiction and ill health, captured in a picture of her with a shaven head and surgery scar.
