Midsomer Murders, 8 pm, ITV1
All the world’s a stage as the Midsomer Mummers, a local operatic society, get ready for a production of The Pirates of Penzance. Unfortunately, the already fraught rehearsals go further awry when a man is found dead in the prop pirate chest. As DCI Barnaby (Neil Dudgeon, marking his 50th episode) and DS Winter (Nick Hendrix) investigate, they uncover secret liaisons and worries over the society’s future, while the bodies just keep piling up… Kevin Whately has a lovely turn as Jeremy, one of the Mummers, who is a pal of Sarah Barnaby (Fiona Dolman), while Shobna Gulati and Samantha Spiro also appear. And look out for Winter giving his best Gilbert and Sullivan!

Ten Pound Poms, 9 pm, BBC One/iPlayer (box set)
The desperate search by Kate (Michelle Keegan) for her son Michael has captured the hearts of viewers and we learn a little more about the mysterious nurse’s painful past in tonight’s episode. It seems her lad was sent to a Catholic orphanage when he arrived in Australia, so she and Annie set out on a reflective road trip to find him, but receive a very unchristian welcome when they finally arrive. It’s a scene that brings some of the era’s most painful stories to life, while the search for Michael seems set to continue for the rest of the series.

Barry Humphries at the BBC, 9 pm, BBC Two
Tonight, the Beeb remembers Barry Humphries, who died in April, aged 89, as Alex Jones looks back at TV appearances by the comedian and alter egos Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson. Spare a thought for the hosts if those were live shows… This is followed by the two- part documentary Rebels of Oz (times vary), which looks at the impact of Australians including Barry, Clive James and Germaine Greer.

Sitting on a Fortune, 7 pm, ITV1
Get ready to put your general knowledge to the test, as football legend Gary Lineker returns for a second series of the high-stakes quiz show, which has a jackpot of a cool £100,000 up for grabs. With no lifelines, it’s right or wrong answers only, as players battle it out using skill, strategy and brain power. But being in with a chance of winning all rests on which chair the remaining contestants are sitting in at the end, so expect tense moments and a few big wins, plus some enjoyable banter between Gary and the contestants.

Missing: Dead or Alive is the latest true crime offering from the streaming giant. Instead of focusing on classic whodunit cases or profiling a murderer, Missing: Dead or Alive follows a Missing Person team as they investigate sudden disappearances.
Shot as a fly-on-the-wall documentary, the gripping four-parter follows officers from a South Carolina sheriff’s department as they urgently search for individuals who’ve disappeared under troubling circumstances.

The cast of a cancelled sci-fi series are reduced to a life of conventions and public appearances, only to find themselves genuinely transported into space. Naive aliens have mistaken the show for real life and want the actors to help defend them from an evil extraterrestrial warlord. Sci-fi comedy, starring Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman and Sam Rockwell.
