It’s Finals Week, with five remaining celebrities vying for the MasterChef title. In tonight’s episode, they head to East Sussex, where they make lunch for 20 hungry Scouts working towards their survival badge on the South Downs – but the only method of cooking available to them is an open flame.

Back in the kitchen, the celebrities face another challenge – and only four will be going forward to tomorrow’s episode, which includes a theatrical showstopping dish and, for the final three, a Chef’s Table including Raymond Blanc, Anna Haugh and Nieves Barragán Mohacho. Continues tomorrow and Friday.

Revenge-seeking personal assistant and aspiring fashion designer Alice (Rebekah Staton) is swooping around saving the day like a caped crusader, all the while modelling her very own fabulously pink creation. After rescuing a poodle from drowning, she tries to reunite it with its owner Cheryl (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), intending to tell her that cruel con man Rob (Alistair Petrie) had intended to kill the dog.

But when she spies Rob on Cheryl’s doorstep, Alice must think on her feet and ends up twisting the truth to gain Cheryl’s trust. Is she turning into a con artist herself?

The competition comes to a close, and the remaining three teams tackle a 1920s-themed final. They must create a dessert trolley with three delicious sharing desserts – a chiffon pie, a decadent jelly and a baked Alaska – and then prepare a stunning banquet display, reflecting the opulence of the decade, to feed 80 people. Who will judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden crown the professional Bake Off winner 2023?
