Star Wars: Ahsoka, Disney Plus
After scene-stealing appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, ex-apprentice Jedi Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) gets her own spin-off series. And considering she first appeared in animated form in 2008, it’s not before time. Set in the aftermath of Return of the Jedi, the eight-part series follows Ahsoka as she attempts to stop the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) returning to seize power for the Empire, with the help of her allies, including weapons expert Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and ace pilot Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). The first two episodes are available from today.

The Duchess & Her Magical Kingdom, 9 pm, More4
Brimming with ambition, vision and can-do attitude, Jane Percy, The Duchess of Northumberland, is such a whirlwind of energy we imagine the crew for this six-part series would have had a challenge keeping up with her! This intriguing documentary has exclusive behind-the-scenes access to Alnwick Castle, inherited by the duchess in 1995 and used as a location for Downton Abbey and the Harry Potter films. It begins as she outlines her plans to construct a magical attraction for children, Lilidorei, in the extensive grounds, complete with elf houses and the world’s largest play structure. We also meet some of her staff and get a tour around the famous Poison Garden, bursting with deadly plants!

Never Mind the Buzzcocks, 9 pm, Sky Max/Showcase/NOW
The anarchic pop quiz is back for another series of chaotic comic shows. Noel Fielding and Daisy May Cooper go head-to-head once more as the team captains answering the questions – if they can stop laughing long enough, that is. Jamali Maddix joins them again to float around as a panellist, and Greg Davies returns as host (his Holly Johnson-inspired dancing from the Christmas 2021 special lingers long in the memory). Tonight’s guests are McFly guitarist and The Voice Kids coach Danny Jones, The Last Leg’s Alex Brooker, who seems delighted to be involved, and the cooler-than-cool Nova Twins.

Annika, 9 pm, Alibi/NOW
An entrepreneur with excellent eco credentials meets a Bond villain-esque end when he’s found drowned in the private shark tank he keeps in his basement, like any extremely normal person does. However, as Annika (Nicola Walker) and the team investigate, and she is inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson, it seems the deceased wasn’t quite the benevolent billionaire that his reputation would suggest. Meanwhile, Michael (Jamie Sives) is only notionally speaking to Annika after her conduct at the end of last week’s episode, and it’s getting in the way of their work – but, eventually, they find time to have a heart-to-heart in a pedalo, of all places…

Invasion season 2, Apple TV Plus
Golshifteh Farahani is back as Aneesha Malik as Invasion returns for a second series. The thrilling sci-fi show depicts an alien invasion and follows a series of characters from around the world, all trying to cope with the fallout of the shocking event. This second season is set just months after the first, with the aliens escalating their attacks and waging all-out war against the humans. But the survivors, who are still desperately looking for answers, have learnt to adapt and fight back, which leads to epic battles to secure the world’s survival. Episodes are released weekly.

Harlan Coben's Shelter, Prime Video

Struggling with his grief and trying to fit into his new surroundings, Mickey immediately forms a connection with another new student Ashley Kent (Samantha Bugliaro). But when she disappears before their first date, he is determined to find out what’s happened to her.

Best film on TV tonight
The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, 9 pm, ITV4
In director Sergio Leone’s best-known movie, Clint Eastwood reprises his ‘Man with No Name’ role, once again sparring with Lee Van Cleef, with Eli Wallach thrown in for an ‘ugly’ touch. Against the backdrop of the American Civil War, they’re interested only in gold, which ironically makes them almost honorable compared to the slaughter they encounter. At 93, Eastwood has begun filming what he’s said will be his final film, Juror #2.
