Ed Sheeran: The Sum of it All, Disney Plus
The Shape of You singer-songwriter has a net worth of $200 million, so really has no need for publicity. But he strikes us as a man always up for a new project, be it a cameo in Home and Away or performing alongside Eminem, which might explain why he’s let cameras into his life for a candid four-part docuseries. Following fellow pop star Lewis Capaldi’s personal film How I’m Feeling Now on Netflix, Ed here shares how he overcame his stutter, the stories behind his big hits and the past year’s ups and downs, including his wife Cherry’s health scare.

Race Across the World season 3, 9 pm, BBC One
After reaching the latest checkpoint, Québec City, the four teams learn that their next destination is Liverpool in Nova Scotia. This leg of the race will be the penultimate one, so it’s frustrating for them to be almost at the finishing line and still worrying if their budget will see them through. And now they’re at a stage where small margins make a much bigger difference. The race leaders assure each other that ‘it’s ours to lose’, but then find that their allotted late-night checkout time means that although they’re getting a head start, their options are limited. One thing is certain, whoever gets on the front foot this week is going to be in pole position for that all-important final push to the end.

We’re stoked that our favourite Aussie soap has been rescued by Amazon and is now filming new episodes for broadcast later in the year, promising the return of fan favourites including Paul, Karl and Susan. Until then, we’re equally excited that, beginning with 2012, a year’s worth of episodes is dropping for free each month on Freevee. And, in bonza news for diehard fans, there is also a selection of iconic episodes to revisit. Take your pick from Harold being swept out to sea – then returning, Russell Crowe’s guest appearance as ex-con Kenny or the five-part wedding of Scott (Jason Donovan) and Charlene (Kylie Minogue). Coronation Tailors: Fit for a King, 9 pm, BBC Two
Sewing Bee judge Patrick Grant is in his element in this brilliant one-off which takes us behind the seams (sorry, scenes) at Kashket & Partners, who are responsible for preparing the iconic military uniforms for Saturday’s coronation. With 8,000 individual garments to alter – every button and metal cap badge needs to be changed to bear the King’s initials – the pressure is on for the dedicated workforce of sewers, whose obvious pride in what they do is humbling. The multigenerational Kashket family, who run the business, are also a hoot. Do not miss!

Best box set on TV tonight
The family-friendly fantasy is back for a second series this week, with half-human hybrid Gus and his friends having to gather their strength to figure out what caused the Great Crumble, the chaotic era when 98% of the world’s population was killed off by a virus.
But as Gus begins a dark journey to find a cure for a new wave of the Sick, he also learns more about his own origins, as well as his mother Birdie’s role in the events leading up to the collapse of society. Christian Convery (recently seen in Cocaine Bear) returns as Gus, alongside Nonso Anozie and Adeel Akhtar. James Brolin acts as the narrator.

Best film on TV tonight
Rye Lane, Disney Plus
There’s been massive critical buzz about this film which reboots the Richard Curtis-style British romcom and casts young Black newcomers in roles in which you might expect Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Julia Roberts or Renée Zellweger. David Jonsson and Vivian Oparah are this great film’s fantastic stars, a couple whose ‘meet cute’ takes place in a public toilet – this is London’s Peckham (where Rye Lane is located), not Notting Hill! – and the film does little more than follow them on their romantic will-they-won’t-they adventure. Co-written by Benidorm star and children’s author Nathan Bryon, it’s heart-warming, funny and clever, and its acid-bright looks are right on the money, too.
