Shetland, season 7, 9 pm, BBC One

Perez and the team are desperate to avert a tragedy in tonight’s finale as the killer is on the loose with a homemade bomb – but who is it, and what’s their target? The answer comes soon enough with a tense standoff in the middle of Lerwick and a clifftop confrontation – but just when you think everything has been resolved, there’s a cunning final twist in the tale and even a heroic sacrifice. As a send-off for departing star Douglas Henshall, this hits all the right notes: powerful, satisfying, and moving – right to the last swooping shot of beautiful Shetland scenery.

The Doc (Martin Clunes) is back behind his desk and barking orders tonight. Yet with both Ellinghams sharing the GP surgery, chaos reigns. New receptionist Max (The Crown’s Angus Imrie – son of Celia) isn’t equal to the task, but wait, what’s this? Former receptionist Morwenna (Horrible Histories’ Jessica Ransom) is questioning her career as an estate agent? When Max goes AWOL, the Doc turns to her for help. Let’s hope she decides to make the return a permanent one and manages to wrangle a pay rise out of him in the process! Elsewhere, James Henry (Elliott Blake) befriends an adorable stray he names Chicken. Will the Doc crack and let Chicken stay?

Mary Berry: Cook & Share, 8 pm, BBC Two

Could Mary have a new career as a street artist?

Mary is in Bristol this week – the city where she got her first job (for the Electricity Board), where her late son William went to university and where her granddaughter Grace now lives. After cooking a brunch of shakshuka (tomatoes and baked eggs), she heads to the bustling harbourside and meets a lawyer-turned-chef who’s embracing the thriving food scene. Inspired by his Asian flavours, she cooks coconut prawns and courgette ribbons, then pays tribute to Bristol-born artist Banksy by tagging her own street art. She also visits the plaque in the university grounds to remember William, who sadly died in 1989, before cooking one of his favourites, a pear and blueberry cake.

The Repair Shop, 8 pm, BBC One

The first precious item brought into the barn is a secret radio, concealed in a leather-bound book. Its owner reveals how his grandfather used it during World War Two to pass on messages to the resistance. As electronics expert Mark works on the radio, the teddy bear ladies Julie and Amanda set to work on Goldie bear, a much-loved teddy in need of a refresh. There’s also a tatty pair of scissors that hold precious memories of a clever mum who used them to make the latest fashions and, finally, an old school-satchel that helped a once shy schoolboy walk a little taller.

Nadiya's Everyday Baking, 8.30 pm, BBC Two

Nadiya gives an old favourite a new twist

Nadiya continues to inspire in the second helping of her six-week cookery course, this week concentrating on speedy bakes. An old favourite, quiche, gets a makeover with layers of buttery filo pastry as an easy base with a punchy paprika egg filling. Next she introduces a teatime treat she discovered in the USA – a peanut-encrusted cookie with a caramel centre. And for a no-fuss midweek family meal, there’s a Thai-style cod and coconut noodle broth baked in the oven.

Days That Shook the BBC with David Dimbleby, 9 pm, BBC Two

David Dimbleby asks questions of the BBC

The final episode in this fascinating series sees David Dimbleby ask whether the BBC represents its viewers properly. Among the examples he uses are the decision to air the Russell Brand radio show which included phone messages left for Andrew Sachs by Brand and his guest Jonathan Ross, and the inclusion of far-right Nick Griffin on Question Time. Contributors including Peter Snow and Bonnie Greer, along with Dimbleby, make this an interesting, thought-provoking watch.

With Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) now trying to expand his Cobra Kai dojos, can Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and his former enemy Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto) stop Silver? This season also sees a sidelined Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) on his own mission in Mexico.

Rush, 10.40 pm (times vary), BBC One

Champagne-quaffing playboy James Hunt and his dour Formula 1 rival Niki Lauda are the protagonists of this slick, exhilarating and hugely entertaining movie set during the sport’s deadly 1970s heyday. Hunt is played with cavalier swagger by Chris Hemsworth, and Daniel Brühl is equally convincing as the calculating Lauda.
