Hit BBC1 Caribbean crime comedy drama Death in Paradise will film two episodes in London
The BBC announced that the new series of Death in Paradise will feature two episodes filmed and set in London.
As well, the new series will see Not Going Out star Sally Bretton reprise her role as DI Goodman's love interest Martha Lloyd.
Death In Paradise executive producer Tim Key said: “We are very excited to be bringing Death In Paradise to London for the very first time. Humphrey has always been a fish out of water in Saint Marie, adjusting to the island’s ways and customs, but for the scenes set in London, the roles are reversed as he is back in his hometown, giving an opportunity to explore the characters that viewers know and love against a new backdrop.”
Sally, who becomes a regular cast member of Death in Paradise, said: “I am delighted that I have been given the chance to reprise my role as Martha and join the incredible Death In Paradise cast and crew again. My character is a joy to play and I can’t wait for the viewers to see how her story unfolds.”
The eight-part sixth series sees the return of Saint Marie’s crime-fighting police team, headed by DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall), alongside DS Florence Cassell (Jobert), Office Dwayne Myers (Danny John-Jules) and Officer JP Hooper (Tobi Bakare).
Usually filmed in Guadaloupe, the new series of Death in Paradise will also include Ardal O’Hanlon (Father Ted), Douglas Hodge (The Night Manager), Natasha Little (Thirteen), Adrian Rawlins (Dickensian), Monica Dolan (W1A), Ramon Tikaram (Happy Valley), Emily Taffee (War And Peace), Gary Beadle (EastEnders), Fiona Allen (Waterloo Road) and Kerry Fox among the cast.
The fifth series drew a consolidated audience of 8.1 million and will return to BBC1 in the winter.
