The Voice has seen its ratings drop to a new low as the show went live for the first time this series.
According to overnight estimates just 4.2m viewers tuned in to the main show on Friday night as the remaining 12 made their first bid for a place in next weekend's semi-final.
The figures fell despite the show moving to Friday night to avoid a clash with Saturday's Britain's Got Talent final.
And ratings for the results later in the evening were even lower, with a mere 3.9m watching as Alys Williams, Sarah Cassidy, Mitchel Emms and Leanne Jarvis all left the competition.
That gave it the lowest viewing figures it has ever had in its two series - with a special performance from up and coming singer Tom Odell doing little to boost audiences.
By contrast, 2012's least watched show in the series was the semi-final, which captured an audience of 4.4m.
The Voice began in March to audiences of around 6m, but saw the figures rise to around 8m after it moved to a later timeslot to avoid an early evening schedule clash with Britain's Got Talent.
However figures have fallen since the show moved on from the blind auditions stage to the battle rounds and knockouts.
Last weekend saw ratings dip below the 6m mark for the first time this series.
The Voice will return next Saturday for the semi-final, but will have no competition from Britain's Got Talent which ends tonight.
