Walliams completes Africa swim
Little Britain star David Walliams has completed his "swim to Africa" to raise money for Sport Relief. The TV funnyman, together with Olympic rower James Cracknell, swam across the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain to Morocco, taking just over four and a half hours to reach their destination. Two years ago, Walliams swam the Channel for Sport Relief - raising £1m in the process. However, he admitted that he found this swim far more challenging - and even confessed to having been sick in the water. "Swimming and throwing up...it shouldn't really go together," he said afterwards. The pair also revealed to reporters that they had encountered dolphins and whales along the way. The swim marked the end of Cracknell's 10-day trip from the UK to Africa, which saw him cycling through France and Spain and rowing across the channel. He described it as "the worst four hours" of his journey. "I can't believe David volunteered to do that after having done the Channel...it was horrible," he said.
