Watch a furious Joan Rivers walk out of live CNN interview (VIDEO)

Joan Rivers has stormed out of a live TV interview live after becoming offended by a CNN presenter's line of questioning.

The veteran comedienne started out by defending her often cutting comments as presenter of E! show Fashion Police in the interview with Fredricka Whitfield.

Rivers responded to questions about her withering tongue: "It's not mean. I tell the truth. I'm sure I say the same things that all your viewers say to their friends sitting next to them on the couch. We're one of the few shows that says 'That's an ugly dress' and that's OK."

Things turned sour when Fredricka asked her about wearing fur on the cover of her new book, Diary Of A Mad Diva, which she suggested Joan must have known would anger PETA protesters.

Joan fumed: "This whole interview is becoming a defence interview. Are you wearing leather shoes? Shut up. You're eating meat, you're eating chicken. Come to me when you're wearing a paper belt!"

She then announced she was ending the interview, as a confused Fredricka seemed unsure whether she was joking until she walked out.
