The Euro 2024 final sees the best team of the tournament take on its most resilient. There can't be too many pundits who would disagree that three-time champions Spain have been the shining light of the competition, with 16-year-old Lamine Yamal its biggest story. His stunner put La Roja back on level terms with France in the semis, as they eventually prevailed 2-1.

They come up against an England side that just don't know when to say quit. The penalty shoot-out; Jude Bellingham's injury-time overhead kick; Ollie Watkins' pinpoint turn and hit. It may not have been pretty at times, but credit where it's due to manager Gareth Southgate for taking England to their second consecutive European Championship final.

Southgate has a full squad to choose from today. Dani Carvajal is back from suspension for La Roja and is expected to step straight back in. But Barcelona's Pedri won't have regained fitness and will miss out on the final.

The big news from the starting XIs is that Southgate has deviated from his tried and tested starters. Luke Shaw, who scored the opener in the 2021 final, is brought in for Kieran Trippier.
