Gino’s Italian Coastal Escape, 8.30pm (times vary), ITV
Gino begins his 700-mile journey down the lesser-travelled east coast of his home country, Italy. He begins in the jewel of the Adriatic, Venice, arriving, of course, by boat – pretending he’s James Bond as he speeds into the Grand Canal and the breathtaking beauty of this floating city. Gino hops on board a gondola then samples the traditional lunch of the gondoliers, cicchetti – small bites of delicious flavours on bread – before rustling up a few of his own. After a bit of lace-making on the colourful island of Burano, Gino uses the freshest of ingredients, bought at the iconic Rialto market, to create a crab and prosecco linguine. Rating: ****
Diagnosis on Demand?, 9pm, BBC2
Can a machine ever be better than a doctor? That’s the question Dr Hannah Fry is exploring as she investigates how AI – or artificial intelligence – is changing our healthcare system. The film goes behind the scenes at British company Babylon Health, who believe AI is the answer to our chronic shortage of doctors and overwhelmed NHS. They have already launched an app called GP at Hand, which 30,000 Londoners use. On a mobile phone users discuss their symptoms with a ‘chatbot’ and can access a doctor in minutes, 24/7. But can we trust the tech, and how do GPs feel about the takeover? Rating: ****

His enquiries into the Kashell case lead him to track down his old boss Bob Jessop, who worked on the investigation.
