Who needs a Prime Day 4K TV deal when these streaming stick deals are so good?

With Prime Day currently raging on, you're probably going to see loads of people pushing you to buy a new TV in the sales; some fancy (and not-so-fancy) sets are discounted to quite low prices, after all. But I'm here to tell you that you don't need to buy a new fancy TV to enjoy your favorite streaming services, movies and shows.

Also reduced in the Prime Day sales are streaming sticks, which are little dongles you plug into your TV to turn them into smart TVs. My personal favorites are Fire TV sticks, made by Amazon themselves, which give you easy access to loads of entertainment apps (not just Amazon ones). And of course, Fire TV sticks are reduced in the Prime Day sales.

I personally use the Amazon Fire TV Cube which I love because it easily gives me 4K video streaming on any compatible TV or projector; I can plug it in and play. I can't get enough of the voice controlled remote too, so I can tell the controller to find a show without me having to move a finger.

A Prime Day deal brings the Fire TV Cube to a really low price; much lower than a good TV, so you can buy it and continue using your old 'dumb' TV.

This streaming media player can be plugged into your existing TV, projector or other screen, and it'll give you access to Fire TV, Amazon's entertainment-focused operating system. A nice $/£40 price cut brings the company's premier piece of streaming kit to a new low price.

I'm really glad I have the Fire TV Cube thanks to all its features - brand-new TVs cost a lot, even with Prime Day TV deals reducing the price somewhat. Plus, an old TV came with the flat I rent, so I can't really buy a new one. However having the Cube means I can still enjoy smart TV features on the older device.

The Amazon Fire TV Cube is the company's top-end streaming device, and it's an Alexa device in its own right so feeds into a smart home system. If you don't think you need that much power, there are some other options from the company that might tempt you. These all have Prime Day deals on them. Here they are:

Fire TV Stick differences

I can guess your next question... what is the difference between all these Fire TV sticks?

In short, the Fire TV Stick Lite is the basic version with barebones features, and an upgrade to the standard model gives you a few extra tricks. The Fire TV Stick 4K lets you enjoy 4K video streaming, while the Max version again brings a few extra tricks.

In long... we've got some handy guides breaking down the differences, that you should dive into! Below that I'll share our reviews of the above products so you can get our in-depth opinions.
