It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Liam (Scott Clifton) on The Bold and the Beautiful. He popped in briefly to meet his new sister, Luna (Lisa Yamada), but then he disappeared again. Now that Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) is heading back to France, will Liam return for Hope (Annika Noelle)?
A year ago Hope and Liam’s marriage fell apart after he arrived in Rome to surprise her and found her kissing his mortal enemy, Thomas. The couple spent the rest of the summer falling apart as Hope and Thomas got closer, and now, just a year later, Hope is devastated upon learning that Thomas is engaged to Paris Buckingham (Diamond White).
Does that mean Liam could return to the scene?
Here’s the thing: Hope and Liam established a newfound friendship in recent months while Thomas has been away. They’ve taken a fresh perspective on parenting Beth, and it brought them closer together. Sure, Liam is wary of Hope’s involvement with Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), but he’s been very supportive of her since Thomas left the first time because he knew she was hurting.
Now that Thomas is leaving for France again, and given that he’s pretty focused on marrying Paris, it looks like that chapter of Hope’s life has come to a close and she’s struggling to move forward. She refuses to be like her mother, which means she’ll probably stay away from Finn (Tanner Novlan) just to avoid being a homewrecker.
There’s an opportunity for Liam to return to Hope’s life. After realizing the error of his ways in trying to win Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) back, he knows that his treatment of Hope was wrong and he’s trying to become a better man, and some of his best moments lately have come while he’s parenting Beth. He’s been to the zoo with Beth and Hope and they had a great time together.
We have a feeling that since Thomas will be gone from LA, Liam will see that Hope is still there and he could have a chance at making things right with her…if she’ll have him. The ship may have sailed for her, but he might be holding out hope for Hope yet.
