Caitlyn Vanbeck tipped to win The X Factor with odds of 4/1
William Hill bookmakers have tipped Scottish teenager Caitlyn Vanbeck to win this year's series of The X Factor.
Last night saw the X Factor auditions draw to a close, with bootcamp getting under way tonight, but the bookies have already tipped their favourite to win the show.
Caitlyn Vanbeck, who appeared on the first show on 27 August, moved Nicole Scherzinger to tears with her performance of Kelly Clarkson’s Piece by Piece, and even got a hug from Simon Cowell.
The Scottish 19-year-old opened up about being bullied in her first audition, and Simon said her performance reminded him of American Idol superstar Kelly Clarkson.
He said: “Fifteen years ago I was on a show in America and a girl came in and told me she hadn’t had a break and her name was Kelly Clarkson and she went on to win American Idol.
“For a moment there when I heard you singing the song it was like going back fifteen years.”
Nicole told Caitlyn, “You’re a force to be reckoned with,” and Louis Walsh also praised her performance, telling Caitlyn, “I think you’re the best singer we’ve had”.

Last night bookies at William Hill gave Caitlyn odds of 4/1 to win the show - confirming her position as the favourite to win the show.
Last night, the bookmaker’s spokesman Joe Crilly said: “Caitlyn has been the favourite since the first show but over the last couple of weeks we have seen some challengers emerge, not least in tonight’s show where we saw no less than three acts move into contention.”
In last night's show, Christopher Peyton, Four of Diamonds and Samantha Atkinson all did so well that they’ve steamed straight into the list of frontrunners, all at 14/1 to win.
Favourites also include returning contestants The Brooks, Emily Middlemas and Gifty Louise.
William Hill’s predictions for this year’s X Factor winner are as follows: Caitlyn Vanbeck; 4/1 Matt Terry; 5/1 The Brooks; 10/1 5am; 10/1 Freddy Parker; 10/1 Olivia Garcia; 12/1 Emily Middlemas; 12/1 James Wilson; 14/1 Christopher Peyton; 14/1 Four of Diamonds; 14/1 Samantha Atkinson; 16/1 Gifty Louise; 16/1 Kayleigh Maroe Morgan; 16/1 Soheila Clifford; 20/1 Cosmic Riot; 20/1 Ivy Grace Paredes; 20/1 Ryan Lawrie; 25/1.
The X Factor is on ITV tonight at 7:30pm.
