The third of the live X Factor shows has taken place, beginning with an explanation as to why Emily Nakanda withdrew from the show. Before the start of the show Dermot O'Leary told viewers that the 15-year-old had quit in light of the "serious allegations about aggressive behaviour". "The producers have carried out a thorough investigation in conjunction with Emily's family, and this has resulted in Emily withdrawing from The X Factor," he said. "For the remaining nine acts, the competition continues." This week's theme was big band, with a 27-piece orchestra accompanying the nine remaining finalists. Leon started the show with Fly Me To The Moon and received a largely positive response from the judges, even Simon Cowell who had criticised his previous two performances. However Futureproof made less of an impression on the judges, with Louis criticising the quintet's lack of dancing during their rendition of Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You. Niki performed next, and her version of All That Jazz, from the musical Chicago, struck a positive note with everybody except Simon, who described the routine as "very cabaret". She was followed by Rhydian, who delivered a flamboyant rendition of Get The Party Started, in sequinned suit and white fake fur coat. The judges were mainly enthusiastic, with Simon calling it his "favourite performance of The X Factor so far this year". There was also praise for Same Difference who performed S Club 7's Reach, with mentor Simon saying the pair were "tremendous", and Alisha, trying to avoid the bottom two with her version of the Mark Ronson/Zutons hit Valerie. Hope, meanwhile, took to the stage in matching red, white and black outfits to perform the Madonna hit Hanky Panky - and the judges liked it. "I want girls to back you and vote for you, and get girl power back in the charts," Louis told the quintet. Andy was next, with a performance which divided the judges - but they couldn't contain their enthusiasm for Beverley, who closed the show with her version of Feeling Good. Dannii described her song as "the standout performance of the night, while Sharon was equally impressed. "You made the most of your moment," she told her, "Amazing."
