Janet Devlin has missed out on a place in The X Factor semi-final after finding herself in the sing-off for the first time this series. The Northern Irish teenager had so far managed to avoid the bottom two but her luck ran out on Sunday night, when she went head to head with Misha B for a place in the last four. And after both had competed in the sing-off - with Janet singing Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars and Misha B performing Out Here On My Own from Fame, both Louis and Tulisa voted to send Janet home. "It's getting tougher and tougher, the final is just two weeks away," Louis said. "I'm taking everything into consideration, judging on last night's two performances and the sing-off. The act I'm sending home is Janet." Tulisa added, "I'm going to base my decision on the person who has a career after the show, who will sell records and sell out arenas." However there was drama when Kelly Rowland, forced to choose between her two acts, abstained from voting, a decision which ultimately send Janet home. "I know how great these two young ladies are," she said. "Janet, I admire you as a musician and you bring something so unique to the industry. Misha - my goodness girl, you just want this so bad. I have to pass, I'm sorry." Afterwards Gary revealed he would also have voted to send Janet home - meaning Kelly's refusal to vote made no difference to the final result. And the 17-year-old had little comment to make, saying only, "I'm feeling very confused. I can't wait to leave the show and get my music out there." Janet had a difficult time on Saturday night's double bill of songs, forgetting the words to her first track, the Hanson hit Mmmm Bop. Tulisa said, "I found the performance rather mediocre for this stage of the competition," while Gary added, "it was a real mess." She fared better with her second song, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Under The Bridge, with Louis saying, "It's all about the voice with you," and Kelly adding. "You had a rough start but you came back out, and I am so proud." Misha B will now compete in next weekend's semi-final, along with Marcus Collins, Little Mix and Amelia Lily, all of whom made it through on the public vote. Sunday's results show also featured performances from Olly Murs - who was accompanied by the Muppets - and Jessie J. And this year's finalists - including those who have already been voted off the show - performed this year's X Factor charity single, a cover version of Wishing On A Star.
