Johnny Robinson has said he feels he has proved himself after singing on The X Factor as himself. The 45-year-old former drag queen - who was voted off the show at the weekend after the judges chose to save Kitty Brucknell instead - said he felt 'humbled' by the support he received from the public as a singer. Johnny said: "I was never a drag queen - I just did a few shows for charity. I wasn't a professional drag performer at all. "I tried talent shows as a female impersonator because I had a different style voice and it didn't work, and I tried The X Factor as myself and it worked. "And I was humbled and enlightened by the public's warmth to me, which I really appreciate. And that's the thing that I can take away from the X Factor - that people were nice to me and I hope they like me. A lot of people did, and that's lovely." The 45-year-old Londoner now has his eye on Olly Murs's presenting job on ITV2's spin-off show. He said: "I'd like to do The Xtra Factor. I'd like to do that next year if Olly's not doing it." Johnny said he was happy to have got as far in the competition as he did. He said: "I'd be quite happy back in my little bedsit. I've come from nothing, I've got nothing. I've just tried to make my life a little bit better. "If I go back to my bedsit that's fine, at least I've got a roof over my head, there's a lot of people far worse off than me."
