Simon Cowell has apparently revealed that US megastar Britney Spears was starstruck by him when they met on The X Factor. The troubled singer performed her latest single, Womanizer, on Saturday night's live show, in which the finalists sang her songs. The music mogul admitted to the Daily Mirror: "This may be a bit egotistical," before confessing: "I think she was in awe of me." He went on: "She was just staring at me. I said, 'Touch me, I'm human,' and I think that broke the ice." Simon and his fellow judges gave Britney a standing ovation for her performance - but viewers were unimpressed that the star chose to mime especially on a show where its contestants are required to sing live. It was also reported that bigwig Simon was made to stand outside Britney's dressing room for 10 minutes to wait for a photo. And when Britney emerged she admitted to Simon that she hadn't watched the show, to which he replied: 'Oh, that's OK, not to worry'. But Simon couldn't rave about Britney enough: "There was more buzz, more excitement, for this girl than anyone else. It was as if the president was on the show. I love it. I think if you're going to be a star, be a star. "She was terrific. Very professional. This girl's got huge star quality. You've got to hand it to her. She's a great performer."
