Your Face Sounds Familiar scores Cheryl win

Cheryl Fergison was crowned winner of the first round of ITV's new Saturday night show Your Face Sounds Familiar after her Dusty Springfield tribute act scored a hit with judges and viewers.

The former EastEnders star triumphed as the 60s star, performing the song You Don't Have To Say You Love Me as the series kicked off.

And in doing so she pocketed £10,000 for the charity of her choice, and fought off competition from other celebrity participants including Alexander Armstrong, Denise Lewis, Bobby Davro, Daybreak's Matt Johnson and Emmerdale star Natalie Anderson.

Each of the six was transformed into a pop star chosen at random beforehand, before then attempting to perform as that star.

Their efforts were judged by a panel which saw guest judge Donny Osmond joining regulars Julian Clary and Emma Bunton.

While the first week of the show saw the six being assigned stars of their own gender, the second week of the show will mix things up.

Each of the celebrities chose their act for next week at the end of the show, using the special 'randomiser' which selects their star for them.

And Matt Johnson looked shocked to learn he would be impersonating Taylor Swift - while Denise Lewis will be turned into Lenny Kravitz.

Cheryl, meanwhile, will be performing as Anastasia, while Alexander Armstrong will aim to impress with his Johnny Rotten act.

Natalie Anderson will take on Britney Spears, while Bobby will attempt to perform convincingly as Mick Jagger.
