The Apprentice star Elliot Van Emden gives his verdict on who should be crowned this year's winner
This year's battle to become Lord Sugar's newest employee ends this Sunday with the final of The Apprentice. We spoke to former contestant Elliot Van Emden about who he thinks should be crowned winner...
The final of The Apprentice airs this Sunday. It's been a hard-fought battle, with 18 candidates fighting it out to become Lord Sugar's newest recruit.
Only two contestants remain: 26-year-old James Wright from Birmingham, and 35-year-old Sarah Lynn.
We caught up with former contestant Elliot Van Emden to ask for some insider knowledge on who could be crowned this year's winner.
Elliot said: "Having been a candidate this season, I got to know each of the finalists independently. I found James to be a great person to work with. As soon as I entered the process I marked him as my main competition. He has great business acumen and is very shrewd on the show. Watching as he has progressed – he did great being project manager two weeks in a row and survived the especially savage interview stage. His strengths are his likability, sales and shrewd business skills. He has been known to over exaggerate things as proven in the interview stage - but what good businessman hasn’t!
"On the other hand, Sarah has come across the most competent candidate of the show. She always makes valid points, is a great public speaker and is very calm and collected. She is the only candidate in this years show that I genuinely believe has no game plan. She was great fun in the house – what you see of her on television is how she is in real life. My only concern – is she tough enough for Lord Sugar?
"For that reason, I’m going to stick with my original gut feeling and predict James as this year's winner."
