Which X Factor contestant has answered Simon Cowell’s prayers?
The X Factor returns for its third auditions' show – and there is one singer that Simon Cowell is very glad to see
After last week’s worst X Factor opening show in more than 10 years, no wonder Simon Cowell looks a bit fed-up.
Is there anything about this weekend’s auditions that could cheer up Simon and his fellow judges, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne?
Well… There is one act tonight (Saturday) that, Simon says, answers his prayers.
She is 28-year-old Janet Grogan, a lifeguard from Dublin.
In 2014, Janet got to Simon’s Six Chair round before he sent her home.
“I was always praying you would come back into the audition room,” Simon tells Janet tonight. “At least I can admit to my mistakes.”

But after hearing Janet sing Zayn Malik’s Pillowtalk, will Simon still think he made a mistake with Janet two years ago?
And what about Louis thinking that Ottavio Columbro looks like a birthday cake when he walks out to sing Get Lucky?
Will that be his cue to celebrate?
Ottavio should have been singing with his friend, Bradley Hunt, but they’ve had a falling out, which interests Simon more than his singing.
And that prompts Louis to suggest the boys should hug it out and audition together. They do, too, returning as Cosmic Riot to sing Pussycat Dolls’ Buttons.
But are they any better together than apart?
There’s one act that has all the judges in agreement and that is 67-year-old car salesman Peter Richards.
They all agree he looks like Bono, the Irish singer-songwriter and lead vocalist in U2.
“People say I look like Bono but I don’t want to copy anybody,” Peter says.
Then he sings U2’s Beautiful Day.
But can he sing like Bono?
Find out how all these acts got on in The X Factor, ITV, Saturday, September 3, 8.15pm.
