Rob Peace follows the story of one young man as he struggles to balance the pursuit of a promising future and his mom's feelings with a deep desire to do everything within his power to get his father released from prison. So does the young man succeed?

Rob Peace release date
Rob Peace premieres in limited theaters on August 2 before becoming more widely released in theaters on August 16. In the UK, the film debuts in movie theaters on September 6.

Here is the official synopsis of the movie written by Chiwetel Ejiofor based on the book The Short and Tragic Life of Rob Peace by Jeff Hobbs.
"Rob Peace follows the true story of a brilliant young man torn between his father's shadowed past and his own promising future. Raised by his devoted yet struggling mother, Rob risks everything he has worked for to free his imprisoned father. Based on the New York Times bestseller by Jeff Hobbs."
Rob Peace cast
Rob Peace is led by a pair of Oscar nominees in Chiwetel Ejiofor and Mary J. Blige. Ejiofor earned his nomination for his role in 12 Years a Slave and has starred in other movies like The Man Who Fell to Earth, Infinite and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Blige, who is also a Grammy-Award-winning singer, received two Oscar nominations for Mudbound, and she's appeared in other onscreen projects like Power Book II: Ghost, Respect and Body Cam.
Joining Ejiofor and Blige in Rob Peace as the titular character Robert is Jay Will. The actor has previously starred in Tulsa King, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and more.
Helping to round out the cast are Gbenga Akinnagbe (Genius: MLK/X), Michael Kelly (Lioness), Mare Winningham (Dopesick) and Camila Cabello (Cinderella).
