'Starstruck' season 2 once again stars Rose Matafeo.
Starstruck season 2 has its US release date finally — March 24 — having already been made available in the UK.
It will continue to follow Jessie (Rose Matafeo) as she reels from the fact she had a one-night stand with Hollywood actor Tom Kapoor (Nikesh Patel), something that completely changes her once fairly mundane life.
Throughout the course of season one, Jessie and Tom can't seem to stay away from each other and they have a connection despite their very different backgrounds and lifestyles. The first season of Starstruck begins on New Year's Eve and ends at Christmas, so viewers get to see how the full year played out for this unlikely couple.
Here's everything you need to know...
'Starstruck' season 2 release date
Starstruck season 2 will arrive on HBO Max on March 24 in the US.
In the UK you can stream the series on BBC iPlayer.
What is the plot of Starstruck season 2?
Following on from season 1, we'll see the fallout from Jessie's decision to stay in East London and pursue a relationship with Tom, instead of going ahead with her original plan of returning home to New Zealand. Something tells us this won't be plain sailing!
It also sees the introduction of Being Human star Russell Tovey, who plays an annoying film director who clashes with Tom and provides even more drama. In addition to this we meet Tom's family who are happy to knock him down a peg or two, and the introduction of new characters provides greater insight into the complicated relationship between Jessie and Tom.
Who's in the cast?
Of course, both Rose Matafeo and Nikesh Patel will be returning as the two lead roles, and they'll be joined by Minnie Driver who is set to reprise her role as Tom’s agent Cath.
Season 2 welcomes Russell Tovey to the cast.
Is there a trailer?
A trailer for Starstruck season 2 has now been released by HBO Max. The broadcaster teases: "After her grand gesture at the end of season one, in season two, Jessie must deal with the real-world consequences of deciding to stay and pursue a relationship with Tom, rather than sticking to her original plan of returning home to New Zealand."
