The Takedown is a French action comedy that sees two unlikely cops work together on a treacherous yet comical mission.
The Takedown is a French comedy action movie, fronted by Lupin star Omar Sy and Laurent Lafitte (Dear Mother) who both play two mismatched cops that reunite to take on a high scale criminal case that embroils them in danger and unanticipated comedy.
The upcoming Netflix movie is a sequel to the 2012 French film On the Other Side of the Tracks and sees the two main actors reprise their roles as police officers Ousmane Diakhité and François Monge.
On the Other Side of the Tracks saw the pair team up to investigate the murder of a business tycoon’s wife and this time, the unlikely duo will be taking on another extensive crime that has stemmed from a drug deal.
Emmy Award-winning director Louis Leterrier, who is responsible for Now You See Me, Lupin, The Incredible Hulk, Clash of the Titans has also directed this comical project.
Omar is also set to make another major film appearance in the highly anticipated Jurassic World: Dominion, where he will be reprising his role as dinosaur trainer Barry Sembène.

Omar Sy and Laurent Lafitte are once again adopting their original roles of cops Ousmane Diakhité and François Monge.
Joining them in The Takedown are: Izïa Higelin (Summertime) as Alice, Dimitri Storoge (Made in France) as Brunner, Jean-Louis Tilburg (Some Like It Veiled) as Contrôleur, Léopold Bara (The Wolf's Call) as Policier BRI, Luka Quinn (La Mante) as Fils Brunner and Caroline Mathieu (The Page Turner) as Caroline.
What is the plot of The Takedown?
The official Netflix synopsis reads: "Ousmane Diakité (Omar Sy) and François Monge (Laurent Lafitte) are two cops with very different styles, backgrounds and careers. The unlikely pair are reunited once again for a new investigation that takes them across France. What seemed to be a simple drug deal turns out to be a high scale criminal case wrapped in danger and unexpected comedy.”
