You’re Cordially Invited is a new rom-com starring Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon about every bride's worst nightmare... two weddings that run into disaster when it is discovered they've both been booked for the same venue, at the same time.

The new Prime Video rom-com, which was written and directed by Nicholas Stoller, who also wrote Night School, Sex Tape, Zoolander 2, The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted, The Five-Year Engagement as well as Apple TV Plus series Platonic, follows hot on the heels of The Idea Of You, which was the streaming sites latest romantic movie offering.

You’re Cordially Invited will land on Prime Video worldwide on Thursday, January 30, 2025. 

You’re Cordially Invited plot

You’re Cordially Invited is about what happenes when it is discovered two weddings have double booked at an island resort venue off the coast of Georgia. 

Reese Witherspoon plays the sister of one bride, while Will Ferrell is the father of the other. Of course, neither is happy about the fact their family's big day has been booked for the same time as another wedding and of course, there is fun and drama to come as this rom-com plays out.

Not only are Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon playing the main characters in the movie, but they're both producers on the film, too. 

Reese is known for her role in the Legally Blonde movies, which we also have a prequel for called Elle, to look forward to. Most recently she has had roles in The Morning Show and Netflix movie Your Place or Mine.

Will Ferrell is no stranger to a comedy movie, having starred in everything from Anchorman to Elf. His next project will see him go on a road trip with his oldest friend for a Netflix documentary movie called Will & Harper

Other cast also includes Geraldine Viswanathan (Janet King, Blockers), Meredith Hagner (As The World Turns, Disenchantment), Celia Weston (Talented Mr Ripley, Hulk), Keyla Monterroso Mejia (Curb Your Enthusiasm), stand up comedian Leanne Morgan and YouTube star Jimmy Tatro.

The movie trailer sees Will and Reese's characters arriving at the wedding venue to find that it has been double booked. Neither is going to back down and reschedule, so of course all sorts of drama soon unfolds...
